Gastropub Volleyball FAQs

Is this a 21 and over league?

Yes.

When do we play?

Your team plays for an hour at the time and night you register for.  If, for example, you sign up for Tuesday 7:00 pm, then you  play from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesdays.

What is the format?

You will play three games to 25 win by 2 with rally scoring ,game ends at 29.

What is the difference between recreational and intermediate ?

Recreational (REC) is for beginners who usually send the ball over the net on the first or second hit. If your team can pass and set reasonably well, or if you like to spike the ball, then you should sign up for intermediate, (INT).

May we bring outside beverages?

No.

How many nights are in a session?

There are 10 nights in session 1 and 6 nights in session 2 and 3.   You may play them all, or due to weather you may play only 7 or 8.   Missed matches are not made up.   If we cancel your scheduled match for any reason, we offer your team a $40 tab inside the Gastropub to be used on that day.

What are the coed rules?

Coed teams must have at least as many women as men on the court at any given time. Most teams play with three men and three women (not including subs), but we expect it will not be unusual to see all-female teams playing in our coed leagues.

Do you have all women's, all men's leagues, quads or doubles ?

We have set our schedule as being just a mix of Coed 6X6-REC and Coed 6X6-INT.  If you have multiple teams ready to register for some other format, let us know.  We may be willing to switch the format of one of the sessions or find a new timeslot.

May we play with fewer than six people in the coed six’s leagues?

Yes, as long as you have at least as many women as men. For example, you could play with five as long as three were women.

Do I need a Paypal account to register?

No, you just need a valid credit card.  You may also pay by check or cash or credit card at Fargo Billiards & Gastropub.

May I take my children to volleyball league?

Yes;  however, children under 21 are not allowed in the sand.

How many players are on a roster?

While only six players play at a time, we expect it will be common to have rosters of eight or nine with players rotating in.  While we do not limit the number of players on a roster, every player who plays must be on the roster with a signed waiver.  There are no exceptions to this.

Are the matches refereed?

League matches are unrefereed.

Are pets allowed?

Not unless it is a Saint Bernard named Bernie.
